Job Brief:
The VP of Operations is responsible for directing and coordinating our organization's CPG operational activities to ensure efficiency, growth, and profitability. This role involves developing strategies, optimizing workflows, and leading teams to achieve internal and external business goals. The VP of Operations we are seeking is an experienced, competent leader able to manage and coordinate all logistics operations works closely with senior leadership to align operational initiatives with company objectives. This ideal candidate should be well-versed in retail supply chain management and able to optimize processes to improve efficiency, productivity and exacting customer delivery requirements.
You will be responsible for strategizing, managing and directing all logistic functions, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership & Planning:
o Develop and implement operational strategies to support business growth.
o Align operations with company objectives and long-term goals.
o Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and performance improvement.
· Operational Management:
o Oversee daily B2B and B2C business operations, including production, supply chain, logistics, and exceptional service level delivery.
o Ensure operational policies, processes, and standards are effective and consistently applied.
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
· Financial & Budget Management:
o Develop and manage and meet budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to optimize efficiency.
o Ensure profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
· Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and operational staff.
o Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
o Set performance goals while guiding and improving team effectiveness.
· Process Improvement & Efficiency:
o Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve productivity.
o Leverage technology and automation to streamline operations.
o Oversee quality assurance, risk management, and compliance.
· Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
o Collaborate with executives, department leaders, and external partners.
o Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
o Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness.
o Monitor and control inventory, delivery processes, and quality standards.
· Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
o Develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard business operations.
o Maintain health, safety, and environmental standards.
o Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Qualifications
· BS/BA in Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (master’s preferred)
· 10+ years of leadership experience in operations, preferably in a relevant industry with emphasis on Walmart and mass specialty retailers.
· Excellent knowledge of supply chain and logistics management.
· Proficiency in standard logistics software.
· Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
· Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and cost control.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Proficiency in operations-related software and enterprise systems.
