The Parts House (TPH), one of the largest auto parts wholesale distributors in the Southeast and Caribbean, is looking for a talented individual to manage its Purchasing operations.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the COO to create a competitive Purchasing strategy and vision, and will directly oversee the forecasting, investments and daily purchasing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage critical forecasting and inventory processes for the Purchasing team. Oversee and direct the daily workflow for the department.
Develop and lead strategic changes to improve forecasting, inventory planning and product launch processes.
Regularly meet with vendors, negotiate terms, and maintain beneficial relationships.
Assist Senior Buyers with forecasting and modeling. Provide direction and insight.
Ensure the online catalog system and pricing models are properly maintained.
Provide regular coaching for the Purchasing Department team members; set the vision for the department, and motivate the employees to achieve top-level work.
Maintain close communication with the General Manager of TPHs Distribution Center. Build and execute plans to support key supply chain events, such as seasonal inventory plans, DC spacing, product flow, etc.
Communicate with the Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate product placement, pricing, sales and promotions.
Work closely with the IT Director to continue providing improvements to the annual inventory efforts, as well as regular cycle count initiatives.
Advise field management on short-term and long-term objectives and goals. Regularly communicate the Purchasing vision with senior TPH leaders.
Maintain knowledge of aftermarket trends, and adapt business ventures accordingly.

A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Business, Management or Supply Chain Management.
Must have at least 5 years of experience in inventory and forecasting, particularly as relates to identifying, initiating, and implementing purchasing and inventory improvements.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel and related functions, is required, as are advanced mathematical skills with a concentration in pricing and forecasting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desired.
Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems and negotiate quickly and efficiently; must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and production methods is desired.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
